Ty Affleck
Operations Manager
Ty Affleck was appointed Operations Manager at Mobil Grain in December 2025. In this role, he oversees rail line maintenance, civil earthworks, and mechanical operations.
Ty began his career with Mobil Grain in March 2020 as an Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic. After earning his Red Seal Journeyman certification in March 2024, he progressed quickly through a series of leadership roles.
Ty is known for his strong work ethic, high standards, and commitment to accountability. He leads by example and fosters a culture of ownership, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Ty holds a Red Seal Journeyman certification in Heavy Duty Mechanics.
Rob Myers
Bulk Operations Manager
Rob Myers has served as Bulk Operations Manager since 2016 and continues in this role with MobilGrain following the 2025 acquisition.
With over two decades of experience in grain handling, merchandising, and operations, Rob brings a strong understanding of the agricultural supply chain and bulk commodity movement.
Rob began his career in ag retail sales before joining West Central Road and Rail in 2006. He later moved into grain buying and progressed into regional bulk operations leadership.
Chris Petruka
Manager of Accounting Services
Chris was appointed Manager of Accounting Services in May 2012. He manages accounting services and strategies while reporting on financial performance with his team.
Prior to his current role, Chris was a Commercial Account Manager with RBC specializing in agriculture and agribusiness clients.
His background includes financial risk management, cash management, client growth, and leadership within crop research at The Noble Foundation in Oklahoma.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan.
Jeffery Ruetz
Account Manager
Jeff Ruetz was appointed Account Manager at Mobil Grain in March 2026. In this role, he leverages his extensive background in finance, operations, and construction project management to build strong client relationships and deliver practical, value-driven solutions across the industrial sector.
Prior to joining Mobil Grain, Jeff served as Vice President of Finance at Balzer’s Canada Inc., where he led all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, payroll, and reporting. He played a key role in project management, contributing to budgeting, cost control, and scheduling, while also representing the organization in labour negotiations with industry associations.
During his tenure, Jeff was instrumental in driving organizational improvements, including leading the successful implementation of a new ERP system from planning through post-deployment. This initiative enhanced financial reporting capabilities and supported more efficient operations across the business.
Earlier in his career, Jeff held roles in project management, estimating, and office administration, where he developed a strong foundation in operations, customer service, and financial controls. Across these positions, he consistently demonstrated the ability to manage complex projects, maintain strong client relationships, and deliver results in fast-paced environments.
Jeff is actively involved in his community, contributing through board leadership and coaching roles with various organizations.
Bailey Morris
Human Resources and Safety Manager
Bailey Morris was appointed Human Resources and Safety Manager at MobilGrain in August 2025 after joining the company earlier that year as Health and Safety Manager.
She oversees human resources and safety operations, including employee relations, recruitment, policy development, regulatory compliance, training, investigations, and safety programs.
Prior to joining MobilGrain, Bailey served as Safety Manager at Westcor Contracting Ltd.
Bailey is currently working toward both her CPHR and CRSP designations.
Steve Frerichs
Delisle Plant Manager
Steve Frerichs is a General Manager with more than 37 years of experience in the grain handling and processing industry.
In his role, he oversees grain cleaning facility operations, logistics, production management, safety, and quality control, supporting efficient operations and consistent service delivery across the organization.
Throughout his career, Steve has developed extensive operational expertise across grain processing and handling environments, with a strong focus on operational performance, safety, quality standards, and team leadership.
Steve is known for his hands-on leadership style, operational knowledge, and ability to build strong, accountable teams while maintaining efficient, high-performing operations.
